Reflections of Peace on Earth: Day Eight - E is for Everyone

peace_4379c“E” is for Everyone

Everyone. Well that, my friends, is a major challenge.

Is it practical to attempt to show the Christmas spirit of giving and kindness to everyone?

In today’s troubled times, is it even safe to encourage people to practice the great commandment to love thy neighbor as thyself?

I really can’t defend either action from the standpoint of my own self-protection. But I refuse to live my life in fear. Perhaps I have simply come to that point in life that I really don’t care what the world thinks of my commitment to attempt to live to love each and every day.

My challenge to you today is, “Will you try to share the love of Jesus Christ with everyone this Christmas season?”

Remember, to those we do not know, we are in fact everyone. As such, should we not consider giving the greatest gift of all love? Let us remember the words of Matthew 22: 38-40.

“And Jesus said to him, “‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ “This is the great and foremost commandment. “The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’
