Reflections of Peace on Earth: Day Five - E is for Elation
“E” is for Elation
Elation is defined as great happiness and exhilaration.
But to me, elation’s synonyms: euphoria, ecstasy, exultation and bliss are all equally appropriate words to describe the Christmas feelings of children.
The years have now passed quickly. Gone are the days when my children’s growing anticipation generated increasing euphoria in the house. Yet the memories remain of the bliss which eventually settled in come Christmas Day.
Whether young or young at heart, today I ask you to consider unbridling your elation and sharing it with all you meet. I contend that there is no greater reason for great happiness and exhilaration than our celebration of the birth of Jesus.
Today let us remember the words of 2 Corinthians 13:11
“Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.”
