The Second Sunday of Easter
We revert back to our normal schedule this Sunday with services and 8:00 and 10:00. You will notice, however, that we are still gloriously decorated for the Easter season!
The Adult Forum continues in the Library at 9:10 a.m. after a two-week break. The topic will be announced then.
Our schedule:
8:00 a.m. - Holy Eucharist Rite I
9:00 a.m. - Coffee & Fellowship (Narthex)
9:10 a.m. - Adult Forum
10:00 a.m. - Holy Eucharist Rite II
10:00 a.m. - Sunday School
11:15 a.m. - Coffee & Fellowship (Undercroft)
At the 10:00 service, we will recognize the first graders who have spent six weeks exploring the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist. The children will receive a certificate and a gift from the second and third graders. Jan Stephenson and Mary Stephenson have dedicated themselves toward presenting the Eucharist in a deeply meaningful and loving way. The children have heard the parable of the Good Shepherd in three parts, the Good Shepherd who cares for and feeds his sheep and calls each by name; the Good Shepherd who searches everywhere until he finds the lost sheep and brings him safely home; the Good Shepherd who will stand between his sheep and the wolf and even give his life for the sheep. At this point the children were ready to link the Good Shepherd parable with the Lord’s Supper. This is told in such a way that the children are able to enter into it and experience God and are fed by Christ the Good Shepherd at Christ’s own table.
See you in church!
